I had to check where Trieste was! I have read some of his work but not read about his life. Being so close to Venice makes Trieste appeal to me now. I would definitely choose the Hotel Victoria so I could say I’d stayed where he did. The library theme is a nice touch, reading a James Joyce piece where he once stayed – those are good bragging rights!
This is a beautiful hotel, and a city I plan to visit soon! I never knew about James Joyce living in Trieste, so that’s so cool to know! I can’t wait to visit, and I’ll really consider staying at Hotel Letterario.
What a beautiful hotel and that breakfast looked amazing. I love the theme and the history of Jame Joyce living in Italy. It looks like a beautiful place for pampering, relaxing and enjoying life after a long day of sightseeing.
This is a gorgeous hotel and for a book nerd like me, I would love this one for sure!! The rooms are absolutely elegant, and the bathrooms look so huge with bright colors and Jacuzzi’s!! I like their decor of the room and the hotel in general, and I wouldn’t miss visiting the library if I stay there 😀
This hotel offers a classic design and facade, along with beautiful interiors. That in itself is enough reason to want to stay here. But I am really curious about the trivia that this was once the home of James Joyce. Being a fan of James Joyce, that would make the stay even more worthwhile!
I recently stayed in a room which had private Jacuzzi and loved it. So, I am sure I would love this too. The fact that James Joyce lived here, makes it all the more appealing. I have never even seen a library themed hotel, let alone stay in one. Sounds great!
I never heard of Trieste and now I knew that it is in Italy. Private jacuzzi in room sounds like royal stay. Library also looks great with beautiful interiors. Stairs are also beautiful specially the flooring. Hotel Victoria looks like an excellent choice for perfect relaxation and comfort.
I had no idea a place called Trieste existed, but since it’s in Italy, I’m sure it’s beautiful. This a fantastic, in-depth review of Victoria Hotel Letterario and I love how it’s library-themed. I would pick a book and curl up to read. It’s also great that the hotel is located in the midst of it all, as I’d love to explore as well.
You had me at private Jacuzzi in your room! The Victoria Hotel looks beautifully exquisite and so grande – I love the floor tiling in the room, it gives the space so much dimension. Totally cool that James Joyce lived here for two years – oh how the walls could talk, I could only imagine the stories it would share.
