Let’s face it: London is a city packed full of culture, history and intrigue. There’s plenty to see and do in the nation’s capital, irrespective of what you enjoy seeing and doing whenever you plan a weekend trip to a cosmopolitan hive of activity.
You will undoubtedly be aware that London is also one of the most expensive cities in Europe to visit. Despite that fact, over 12 million of us stay overnight in the capital each year for sightseeing, partying, and other reasons!
When it comes to finding somewhere comfortable and affordable to stay, it makes plenty of sense to stick to locations just outside of the city centre. Here are three reasons why:
1. London Has Good Public Transport
Firstly, you can get on the tube, take a bus, use the DLR (Docklands Light Railway) or cross the Thames quite cheaply using an Oyster card. The TfL (Transport for London) network extends well beyond the capital’s boundaries.
2. You Want a Quiet Night’s Sleep
It’s no secret that London is a fantastic place to party! With that in mind, it’s not uncommon for people to be merry and have fun, often quite loudly, well into the early hours. If you want a quiet night’s sleep, don’t stay in the city centre!
3. You Aren’t Loaded
Did you know that London’s main tourist attraction hotel prices are very high compared to elsewhere in the UK? Take a look at the following infographic to find out why:
