Now let’s visit Niagara Falls and discover its beauty.
Maid of the Mist
Maid of the Mist is arguably the most famous attraction at Niagara Falls. This boat takes you close to the bottom of the falls. In fact, it takes you into the mist – hence the name. You will get wet from the spray and all passengers are gifted a Maid of the Mist poncho before embarking on this journey.
US Side of the Falls
Which side of the Niagara Falls is better? Almost anyone you ask will say the Canadian side. Nonetheless, it’s recommended that you also appreciate the US side as well. However, I recommend visiting the US side first so you’re saving the best for last!
US / Canada Border – Rainbow International Bridge
The Rainbow International Bridge connects Niagara Falls, New York with Niagara Falls, Ontario. You can drive your hire car over the bridge or simply walk across. Make sure you have the required documents to cross the border. More importantly, if you take a hire car over be sure it’s permitted with your insurance and car hire company. Lastly, enjoy the Niagara Falls views as you cross the bridge.
Visit Niagara Falls City Canada
From the Canadian side of Niagara Falls you have the best view of Horseshoe Falls. Photographers, this is the side you must be on! Additionally, you also have the complete view of the American Falls. Something else special on the Canadian side is the Skylon Tower Observation Deck. Enjoy almost drone like views of the famous Horseshoe Falls. Lastly, from this birds eye viewpoint you can really get a good perspective of the whole area.
Niagara Falls Tunnel
The Tunnel at the Niagara Parks Power Station on the Canadian side takes you under Niagara Falls. The whole experience of walking through this huge tunnel before seeing the power of the falls from below is incredible.
Prospect Point
Prospect Point offers perhaps the best view of Niagara Falls from the US side. Specifically the American Falls. The Prospect Point tower was built in 1961 but has been modified since. If you take the Maid of the Mist, you’ll disembark from the bottom of Prospect Point.
Niagara Falls State Park
Niagara Falls State Park offers free entry and spans the US side of the falls. You can follow well marked trails to the different viewpoints on the US side. Birdwatchers will love these trails as they witness active birdlife around the park.
Niagara Falls at Winter
Visit Niagara Falls in the winter to see them surrounded by snow and ice. What’s more, during especially cold times it can appear as through the falls have completely frozen. On the contrary, the flow of water never stops.
Niagara Falls during Fall
If the falls look spectacular during winter then how about during fall. The colourful leaves surrounded by gallons of rushing water enhances this beauty spot further. For this reason, maybe you need to visit Niagara Falls more than once in your lifetime!
Enjoy Your Visit to Niagara Falls
Visit the falls when you want and for as long as you want with the freedom of booking your own vacation through KAYAK. Do you wish to get up early and witness sunrise before the tourists arrive?
