Kings Green Hotel Melaka – Meet the Manager
The manager of the hotel is Khaled Mohammed (above right). Khaled will be happy to tell you his thoughts on Malaysia and advise you on what and where you must visit during your stay in Melaka. If you’re lucky he’ll invite you for a delicious coffee at the Hibiscus Cafe.
Khaled speaks German so any German speaking guests who want to speak in their mother tongue can have a chat with Khaled. He’ll be more than happy to speak in German and will tell you interesting stories about his time in Germany.

Kings Green Hotel – Rooms
The rooms are new, clean, luxurious with comfortable beds and flat screen TV’s. Melaka is hot so you’ll be pleased to know the air conditioning is very efficient in the room (as it is in the whole hotel). The bathrooms are just as clean, spacious and luxurious as the rooms, offering the choice of a bath or a shower depending on how you feel. Free water and coffee are supplied daily, you might want to take one of those bottles of water with you when you go out to explore Melaka.
There are a wide range of rooms available for all budgets and requirements;
- Standard
- Superior
- Deluxe King
- Deluxe with balcony (above)
- Suite
- Premier Suite
Prices vary from $50 for the standard room to $125 for the Suite. The price difference between the standard and the deluxe with balcony is not much, so the Kings Green might be the place to treat yourself to an upgrade, maybe even the place to stay in a suite. Book direct with the hotel for the best rates.
There is free WiFi available in the whole hotel, the signal is strong in the rooms too.

Kings Green Hotel Melaka – Hibiscus Cafe
For the buffet breakfast you have two choices of where to eat, inside in the air conditioning or outside in the fresh air. I know my parents would have sat outside to enjoy the buffet but my preference was to eat inside and enjoy the cool air. The buffet breakfast consists of a mix of local and western foods as well as an egg station so you’ll find the best breakfast for all taste buds. Something unique about the buffet breakfast is that for the drink you can choose blackcurrant juice which is a popular flavor in the UK. Large glasses are provided for the drinks which is a refreshing change from the tiny glasses served in so many buffets around the world. Of course tea and coffee are available as well as the fruit juices.
The Hibiscus cafe is open from 7 am to 11 pm daily and the coffee is perfect for those requiring a caffeine pick up.

Kings Green Hotel Melaka – Infinity Pool
Melaka is hot and the perfect place to cool down is in the hotels infinity pool which is free for guests. You could relax in the pool in the afternoon before going to the Melaka night market or to the hotels Chinese restaurant. The swimming pool is open daily from 7 am to 7 pm.

Kings Green Hotel Melaka – Gym
The gym in the Kings Green Hotel is clean, well equipped and supplies free water. What impressed me most about the gym is the amount of free weights and the size of the free weights too. I often go to hotel gyms and I’m disappointed I can’t work out properly because of the light weights. At the Kings Green you can get a good workout with the decent sized weights as well as using the huge mirror to check your form. For those who want a cardio workout there are plenty of running machines, cross trainers and exercise bikes, it’s unlikely you’ll have to wait for one.
The gym is open daily 7 am to 9 pm.

Kings Green Hotel Melaka – Jia Chinese Restaurant
Foodies will love the onsite Chinese restaurant. Jia Chinese restaurant serves authentic and delicious home made Chinese food. You should eat as they do in Asia whilst in the Jia restaurant, it’s custom to order a few different dishes to be shared amongst the group, as opposed to ordering a dish each like in the west. Do you know how to use chopsticks? If not, you should try! If you still can’t use them, then you can ask for a fork.
Jia Restaurant is open from 12 pm – 3 pm and 6 pm to 10 pm.

Kings Green Hotel Melaka – Green Acres Lounge & Bar
The Green Acres Lounge and Bar is open daily from 4 pm to 1 am. The bar gets quite busy during weekends and there is a live cover band playing. The chairs by the bar are perfect for solo visitors like myself. For those visiting as a group or as a couple there are tables and sofas to relax on. The manager, Khaled is often in the bar and if you’re lucky he might join you for a beer.

Kings Green Hotel Melaka – Shuttle
You can organize with the hotel a shuttle service to and from;
- Melaka City UNESCO World Heritage Site and Jonker Walk (10 minutes)
- Melaka Sentral (10 minutes)
- River Cruise Melaka (5 minutes)
- Melaka Airport (24 minutes)
- AEON Shopping Mall (2 minutes)
It’s worth considering the hotel shuttle as taxis in Melaka are notorious for overcharging.
Reserve a room directly with the Kings Green Hotel or email the manager with any queries / special requests.
Enjoy your stay at the Kings Green Hotel, Melaka.
If it’s near to a UNESCO I’m in! I think it’s great when hotels offer a shuttle service, it makes things so much easier, and it’s a great chance to chat and get some local knowledge.
This looks like an awesome place to stay! How interesting that the manager speaks German! I really loved Melaka, and it’s really good to know there’s AC and wifi! The infinity pool looks like a great place to hang out!
Great recommendation .We are researching places for our stay in Malaysia, so thanks for sharing this!

We love Malaysia. Melaka is really historic and Kings Green Hotel seems like the place to stay for sure. The gym is really impressive. It’s rare to see one so big and well equipped in a hotel. Thanks for this recommendation.
If it is close to a UNESCO site then its alright with me. Good prices, great gym and food means I will probably stay there when Im in Town! I can also speak German so looking forward to using it! Thanks for the recoomndation.
What a great hotel! I love the crisp clean colors of everything and the location sounds perfect. We love to try new things on vacation and I really want to try black currant juice now!!
It looks like such a nice and tidy place to stay at. I love using shuttle buses whenever I can. Makes it so much easiesr especially after a long flight.
The hotel looks pleasant, comfortable, and clean. I like the infinity pool a lot. It has a great view of the city. Mr. Khaled looks friendly and approachable. It is also nice that they have shuttles. I try to avoid taxis when I travel because they are expensive.
very good post, i certainly love this web site, keep on it
I love how modern the hotel looks with all the sleek lines and colors. I only got to visit Malaysia on a long layover but really wish I had more time. Were the beds comfortable? I find that to be EXTREMELY important when I go places so I get a good nights sleep for the next day!
The hotel indeed is lovely! I love those swirl accents in the room! By the way, the pool looks like the perfect place to escape the afternoon heat!
If there’s anything I like about a hotel, its FREE buffet breakfast! I’ve never been to this side of Malaysia before. How far is it from KL? The room looks really spacious and very organized. Pretty impressive! I’d definitely consider staying here the next time I’m around.
Melaka is less than 2 hours from KL by train, it’s definitely worth visiting!
I loved Melaka! This looks like a great place to base yourself for exploring the city, especially since they offer free transport! It looks like a lovely place to stay, especially if the food tastes as good as it looks 🙂
I haven’t actually heard of Malaka so I just had a quick google – it’s so colourful! It’s perfect that they offer a shuttle, I really think that more hotels should do the same. At £50 for a standard room it’s a little out of my usual backpacker price range but it looks lovely!
Jia testaurant looks fascination. Melaka hotel looks interesting as it is UNESCO one. Hibiscus cafe is cool
I had visited Melaka in 2014 and I loved the city. My stay was quite comfortable but this looks good too. I like such places which provide free shuttle to famous attractions, provide for buffet breakfast and fast wifi.
I didn’t get a chance to visit Melaka while I was in Malaysia, spent most of my time in KL. But since Melaka is a UNESCO site I’ve always wanted to go. Hopefully, next time I could squeeze in a visit here and I would definitely keep this boutique hotel in mind when looking for a place to stay. I really enjoyed all of your snaps of it on Instagram – the interior was so unique and colorful, to say the least.
Haven’t visited Melaka. It is next to my country so I should come next time and will remember this hotel when I do.
I have not been to Melaka yet but looks like a pretty decent property to stay. Next time I am at Malaysia would definitely add this to my itinerary. The rooms are quite bright and vibrant.
Kings Green Boutique Hotel looks like my kind of place, and I’ll definitely consider it if I visit Melaka. The manager seems so friendly, so cool that he speaks German too. Hibiscus Cafe and Jia Restaurant both look so good, I’m hungry just reading this.
